Links to Free Online Lye Calculators- A must have for any Soap crafter
Using a reliable lye calculator is an essential in soap making, whether you are using Sodium Hydroxide or Potassium Hydroxide. A Lye calculator allows you to experiment with your oil combinations and weights to ensure that your soap has the correct amount of oil. A good lye calculator will allow for your superfatting and the different properties of your chosen oils. I work in metric, so I prefer Lye calculators that allow for both imperial and metric measurements.
